Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a safe and conservative approach of managing musculoskeletal problems through movement, exercise, activity modification, modalities and education. At Team Sapiens, you work with a singular physical therapist. We see ourselves primarily as teachers. Rather than doing technique "x" we guide you to learn skills necessary to adapt and live your best life!

Wellness Coaching

Team Sapiens wellness coaching sessions are designed for improving mobility, strength, joint nutrition and overall health. We utilize baseline screening and fitness assessment to track progress and create individualized programs. Can be performed in our clinic or online via video conference.

Dr. Slavko Milicevic

Dr. Slavko is Co-Founder and treating physical therapist at Team Sapiens. Born and raised Trstenik, Serbia he migrated to Chicago at the age of 13. He obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at Midwestern University. He is a former captain of Benedictine University’s Men’s soccer team and enjoys playing soccer, basketball and volleyball in his spare time.

Dr. Slavko is also a staunch advocate for moving the physical therapy profession forward, regularly participating in local meet-ups and virtual discussions with other professionals.

Clinical interests: lumbar spine, cervical spine, tibiofemoral joint, ankle, and soccer injuries.

Dr. Piotr Solowiej PT, DPT

Dr. Piotr is Co-Founder and treating physical therapist at Team Sapiens. Born in Bialystok (Poland) his family moved to Chicago when he was 3 years old. He attended UIC for his undergraduate degree completing a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, and obtained his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Midwestern University. He was team co-captain and earned All-Conference honors for high school varsity baseball, regularly plays 5-on-5 basketball, and is now an avid rock climber.

Community Outreach: Volunteers for the Chicago Adaptive Climbing Club.

Interests: hip/shoulder/spine, chronic pain, mobility development, injury prevention, movement coordination, the brain.
